In today’s video, we’re going to check out a free add-on contained inside of Blender 2.83 that allows you to quickly generate custom trees inside of Blender!

Sapling Tree generator is an add-on that comes built-in to Blender for helping you to quickly create trees and leaves, as well as setting up the UV mapping properly so you can quickly add textures as well!

Enable – File – Preferences – Sapling Tree Gen

Adding a tree – shift A, curves, sapling tree

This pops up a menu for editing your tree – note that if you click off of this, it will go away. You might be able to get it back with F9, or maybe not. Best to try not to click off of it.

Adjusting Branches – size, layouts, etc – I’d start with a preset

Leaves – add check box – come in UV mapped Adjust with UV mapping – easy Trunk – object – convert to – mesh from curve
